The beginning

The Sustainable Seas Initiative was launched September 12, 2011 in the presence of HRH Crown Princess Victoria, godmother to the ship Tre Kronor af Stockholm.
The seminar was conducted in cooperation with Stockholm University, WWF, BSAG, Cargotec and Wärtsilä.
The theme of the first seminar was the eutrophication of the Baltic Sea.

Telia Sonera becomes main partner to the Sustainable Seas Initiative

telialogga400px.jpgOn 21 May 2012, the TeliaSonera is the principal partner of the Sustainable Seas Initiative, which makes it possible to go further and develop the concept.

The exhibition "Baltic Sea - who cares..."

utstallningen-am.jpgAhead of this summer's sailing the Initiative developed an exhibition named "Baltic Sea - who cares ..."
The exhibition deals with littering and toxins in the Baltic Sea and was developed in collaboration with Stockholm University and the Keep Sweden Tidy.

Baltic Sea Waste Campaign

During the summer the Initiative collaborated with the Baltic Sea Waste Campaign in several ports in Sweden and in the Baltic. BSWC conducted junk dives and informed of debris and ghost nets in the Baltic sea.

Section for the environment att the boat show "Allt för Sjön"


Together with The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and Nature Conservation Society The Sustainable Seas Initiative developed a new section for the environmental information at the fair.
